Betsson expands LatAm footprint with Peru licence approval

Stockholm-listed betting and gaming operator Betsson has secured its first local licenses for the newly regulated iGaming market in Peru.

The licenses cover online casino and sports betting for the Betsson and Betsafe brands.

An additional licence for Inkabet, which was acquired by Betsson in August 2021, is expected to be obtained in the near future.

“We have really looked forward to Peru introducing a local regulation and are very pleased with the issuing of these licenses,” said Betsson president and CEO Pontus Lindwall.

“With this announcement, we affirm our commitment to the local economy and the new regulatory framework in the country.”

Alongside the Peru approvals, Betsson currently holds licenses in two other key Latin American markets - Colombia and Argentina (Buenos Aires City, Buenos Aires province and Córdoba).

Shares in Betsson AB (STO:BETS-B) were trading 0.25 per cent lower at SEK121.30 per share in Stockholm Thursday morning.
