Betsson seals first shirt sponsorship deal in Greek Super League

Betting and gaming operator Betsson has secured its first sponsorship with a Greek Super League team through a deal with OFI Crete FC.

Since entering the Greek market in 2021, Betsson has sponsored the Rally Acropolis and the Cycling Tour of Greece, as well as basketball teams AEK Betsson BC and Aris BC.

Having taken over as title sponsor of the Greek Cup earlier this year, this new deal with OFI Crete marks its first sponsorship in the top football league in Greece.

“We are excited to embark on this journey with OFI Crete FC," said Betsson Greece managing director Thanos Marinos. "As we’ve done in other sponsorships, our commitment goes beyond financial support; we aim to engage with the community and support the team in achieving their goals.

“This partnership represents a new chapter for Betsson in Greek football, and we look forward to a fruitful collaboration.”

OFI Crete FC president Michalis Bousis commented: “Securing a sponsorship with Betsson, an international brand, is a significant achievement and a great honour for our club.

“This three-year partnership is particularly meaningful as it coincides with our upcoming 100th anniversary celebration next year. Having Betsson’s support is invaluable, and I am confident that together, we will achieve many great things, furthering the legacy of our beloved team.”

Shares in Betsson AB (STO:BETS-B) were trading 0.86 per cent higher at SEK127.00 per share in Stockholm Friday morning.
